LAS VEGAS BAND NARROWLY MISSES LONDON HOTEL FIRE

Members of the Las Vegas based Raiding the Rock Vault rock group had a close call in London.

Raiding the Rock Vault, a popular 1980’s-centric rock band made up of yesterday rockers, took their fiery sounds to London last week.

They were lucky they didn’t arrive earlier.

Band member Todd Kerns, in a posting on Facebook, said the band “arrived safely in London only to find our hotel burned to the ground. I told you it was going to be a hot time. Hope you’re enjoying your DAMMIT Day!”

Dozens were injured when the blaze swept through the Brentford Travelodge in west London. About 160 guests were evacuated while 15 fire engines battled the five-story fire.

A Las Vegas staple since 2012, the band is wrapping up a nearly three-year run at the Hard Rock Hotel on December after previous residencies at the former LVH (now Westgate) and Tropicana).

They are moving to the Rio’s year-old 172 music venue, starting January 11. Tickets are now on sale.

During their show at Subterania, band member Paul Shortino, one of the founders, let fans know he has written a song about his wife, Carmen. It will be released in early 2020.
